JRM's Ottertail Labradors

As children, both of us had farms in our families and witnessed animals birthing. As parents, we wanted our children to have that experience. Our first breeding was in 2000, it was our first Labrador, a chocolate bitch named Kisses. We fell in love with the experience of breeding, whelping and nurturing. It wasn't long before we met our mentors in Claire Peterson (Stonecrest Labs) and Cathy Benedict (Cabin Labs). The mentoring by Claire and Cathy has been invaluable. Since then we have become members of the Pawcatuck River Labrador Retrieve Club (PRLRC) and the Hartford Obiedence Training Club (HOTC). Our Ottertails have been in show rings, rally trials, dock diving and barn hunt events and trained in scent works.

Our breeding is responsible, planned and intent on improving our line.

Our goal is to produce Labradors that exhibit the traits they are known for; friendly, intelligent, alert, versatile dogs which are strong, balanced and athletic with a good temperament. See more on our beeeding page.
